We Have a Teenager!

Kyle is THIRTEEN!!
After all the years of waiting and wanting, our first baby is now a teen.  Even in this crazy year of The Coronas, Kyle was able to have a pretty great birthday.

His crazy Mom made an amazing birthday balloon and streamer door hanging that was a little too shocking of a wakeup call.  It was so shocking that Kyle was was actually a little scared.  His day could only go up from there! He really enjoyed ripping out and popping that scary door decor!

After a day of exactly what he wanted, which was a lot of not much but games and resting, the whole family went to the movies and saw Jurassic Park, then headed to our favorite spot for hibachi and sushi.  Our cook was cracking us up by piling all the extra rice and veggies and steak and sauce to "the birthday boy."  Kyle shared a sushi tower with the other boys, and by 'shared,' I mean halved.  He was so full of food from all the birthday extras that he couldn't even eat his main meal.  It was a Festivus miracle.  He did enjoy finding out that the family across from us had a swimmer, one who swam at Texas Ford Aquatics, the same as him.  In fact, this other swimmer ex

Finally, we went home, where Kyle had a jackpot of amazing gifts AND the tres leches cake that Dad made per his request.

Overall, I think he had a great teenage birthday!  And his Mom and Dad sure love this oldest boy, who made us parent's 13 years ago.

Evan Practices Golf

Meow is really loving learning and improving in his sport of golf.  He wanted to make sure we made a record of his progression.

I'm proud of him for all his hard work and practice.

Stephen Becomes the Patient

Due to family history of colon cancer, Stephen decided to have his first conoloscopy.

Evan and I got to pick him up and see how HE reacted to the anesthesia he usually administers to patients.
We discovered that coming out of the drug induced sleep was difficult for him + he just kept saying, "I want a coke!"

We are glad that he was able to get this done and have 2 polyps removed before it turned worse.

Video Game Museum

For a fun summer activity, the boys and I took a field trip to the National Video Game Museum.  Lucky us, it's right here in Frisco!
WE LOVED IT!!!

The boys got to play all kinds of games.

Kyle became the Galaga master, like his father before him.

It was so much fun, we didn't want to leave.
This is definitely a must do!  [or must do again!]

July 4th Fun

For the weekend, we made a road trip to College Station to hang out at Grandpa's and Grandma's house.  Most of our time was spent in the pool/hot tub.

Chris came up from Cypress to hang, too.  The boys played for hours with a beach ball. (We forgot to bring the swim shirts for everyone, so we were so grateful that G+G had some we could borrow!)

In the past few years, we have watched the fireworks show from the George Bush Presidential Library.  We've been able to park in a nearby parking lot.  This year, Covid changed things a bit.  The show was still schedule, but we did have to drive around to find a decent, socially distant place to park.

I love firework and celebrating the freedom of the good ol' USA!
