Teacher Appreciation

This year, we didn't really get to say Thank You or Goodbye to our teachers. One thing Ryan and Evan did virtually was to write (draw) thank you notes.

How lovely it was to see these wonderful women in our yard at the end of the school year.  We had to socially distance, but we saw even more how much our elementary teachers care for our family!

Grama Sue, Auntie Deb, and the Flower Garden

My history with keeping plants alive has been less than stellar.

Thankfully, I recruited one of the best: Grama Sue!

She and Auntie Deb came in to help me fill my plants with (hopefully) rabbit-free flowers.  She is quite the expert, and I made a goal to learn more about this stuff.  This year was mostly for research on what will survive the weather and the wretched varmints that have been attacking our greenery.

These colors and live flowers are bringing me so much joy!
We even have a lime and a lemon tree!

While Grama Sue and Auntie Deb were here, we got in touch with another relative: Riley, who is the son of one of my mom's cousins.  I think this might have been the 2nd time in my life I've ever seen him, so we are less than close, but it was nice that we got to have dinner and he played and played with the boys.

It was great to have a full house, and it was also so lovely to have our little family for dinner, too!

While our little family was at our home, Grama Sue and Auntie Deb were able to go on to see my big family in Utah.  I'm so glad they all got to be together, even if we were not.

This LOOOOOONG spring break is starting to take a toll, but at least we have our family.

Skonkdogg is Older

Once you are in your forties, weekday birthdays seem a lot like any other day, only with presents and blowing out candles on a cake.   We did order out from Maggiano's, and Skonk was able to have bites of all the cakes he wanted: Delicious Chocolate Cake, Tiramisu, and something he got from work friends.

It was a 2020 Birthday, but with lots of love from family and friends.  How we love our Daddy Skonkdogg!

Easter Stuff

This year, church was under the COVID restrictions.  We stayed home and tried to do some of the traditional things, anyway.

Easter Sunday didn't have any new, fancy clothes this year, but we remembered our Savior and the love and sacrifice He gave for each of us, the one that allows us to return to Him someday.

We were able to die some eggs (and include deviled eggs---especially for PO--for Easter dinner.) There was also an egg hunt and opening gifts and candy from Easter baskets.  Inside, everyone discovered kites, and we flew them on the golf course until security made us leave.

Spring Outdoor Fun

Throughout April of this crazy year, the weather was beautiful.  It's a good thing because we were getting a little stir crazy from staying mostly quarantined.  We looked for bluebonnets, but The Coronas must have needed them more than we did.   There was time for throwing confetti eggs and having water balloon fights with brothers!  Mommy also got to get out some quarantine and virtual school frustrations with a hose!!!
