School Fun

I love how the boys' teachers keep us updated on the great things going on at the school.  Ryan's class has been learning about bodies and different organs.  One day, Ryan insisted on wearing this "Halloween" shirt to school.  I tried to tell him to wait at least until October before pulling out the skeletons, but he really wanted it.  Turns out, they were learning about hearts, and Ryan was the perfect visual aid!!!

Here's the completed body!

The boys had a Boosterthon fundraiser.  (Thanks to all who supported them!)  They both did so well, running more than the 35 pledged laps.

Here's Ryan's class, and Ryan and some buddies, running in the glow run.

In Ryan's class, they also learned about counting with tally marks.....by becoming the tally marks!!!

All throughout September, the school celebrates color days in honor of Kindergarten.  This one was from orange day...or maybe pink???

One of the cool things about living in College Station is all the opportunities Texas A&M provides. One such perk was getting to meet with a gold medaling winning Olympian and even holding a REAL gold medal!!! (That was Kyle's favorite part.)  He was also impressed at all the sports she played.   So cool that her coach is married to a teacher at their school, so she was able to coordinate such a cool guest.

I love our elementary school, and am grateful for all the great things the teachers are doing to help our boys.

Cub Scouts

Cub Scouts has started up again for Kyle.  He is in the Bear den and enjoys it.  The first den meeting was a fun one: putting up a tent and cooking pancakes!  I think it's going to be a good year!!!

Comal River

One of our favorite things to do in the Hill Country is float the Comal River.  It's been awhile, so we made an impromptu weekend trip in September while the weather was still hot.

The boys loved it!!!  (The first time down the tube chute, Evan got separated from the group.  He never fell out of his tube, but he was scared and crying because he couldn't see us.  Thankfully, we grabbed onto some low hanging tree branches and waited for him to catch up.  Some friendly Texans helped him along and even gave us some rope to tie Meow-Meow's tube to Stephen's tube.  We were good after that.  Except, on the second time down the tube shute, Ryan was pushing so hard on his tube to hold on that his shoe got stuck and came off!  He spent the rest of the day with one bare foot!)

We love Rockin' R, and fun days like this.  Kyle and Ryan weren't sure if they were going to like this, and Evan thought he would be afraid on the river, but all the boys have been asking when we are going to do this again!

Fall Soccer

For the first time, we have all three boys in soccer at once!  We've lucked out on practices.  Kyle and Ryan have practice at the same park at around the same time.  Evan's practice is on the other night at the other field.

Games, on the other hand haven't lucked out so well.  Most of the season, all three games start at 9:00 a.m., which means one parent is taking Kyle to his park, while the other is running back and forth between fields at the other park.  It's been fun, but busy!  All the boys are loving it, and they all scored a goal on their first game of the season!!!

One evening at Evan's practice, Ryan was telling me about the fun way his music teacher helps them remember some of their terminology.  (Thought it might be fun for those musical people in our families.)

I'm sure there will be more pictures to come.  We are enjoying our Saturdays of soccer!

Fall Football

It's fall, and that means AGGIE FOOTBALL!!!

Kyle got to go to the first game with Stephen.

Uncle Hubba and Aunt Rebecca were also in town to go to the game, which meant I got to watch my newest nephew:

He wasn't having it.  He hated this bottle.

Evan did enjoy trying to make him happy, though.

Stephen also took the boys to another game.  (Except Ryan, who already had plans with a friend.)

It's been an exciting season, with many more games to go!  Gig 'em!!!
