Six Weeks Old!!!

A Growing Boy
It's hard to believe that six weeks ago Kyle had just come into this world! Today, Mom had her six-week check up with Dr. Doke. Everything is going well, and she's all healed up after pushing Baby Kyle out. Kyle was really alert the whole time and can already get attention from the girls. I don't think they're used to seeing such an alert baby still this young....they called all the receptionists and nurses over to look at him. However, a bunch of other patients in the office kept saying how small he is, like he's not normal or saying that he must have been a preemie because he's still so small. Whatever, dudes!!! We went by Dr. MacFerran's office afterwards, and Kyle was measured and weighed. He is now 21 inches tall and weighs 8 pounds, 13 ounces. Dad's comment was, "Wow. He's still smaller than I was when I was born!" I guess it helps out that Dad was born a whole MONTH after his due date!!! He had more time time to proof in the oven. Overall, after six weeks of having Kyle around, we're all happy and healthy.

Atlas is starting to warm up to Kyle. I think she realizes that he's not going away. Someday he won't seem so small, and she'll have a great pal to play with!!! For now, he just smells weird.

Tuckered out after a long day!

Rub-a-Dub-Dub, Mister Man in the Tub!

Here he is, hanging out in his swing. He's so content and happy. It almost looks like he's ready to play the piano. (That's for Granna and Aunt Jules and Aunt Julia!) It must be all that classical music built into the swing. Early brainwashing! Unfortunately, Mom has to break up this happy moment with a bath. The bath starts off well, as you can see from the pictures. He's also so modest! Happy times are over soon, and you can see how he really feels after just a few minutes in the tub.

Hello, everybody!
I'm not sure about this bath stuff.

Finally out and almost done.
Clean and ready for bed!

Another Day, Another Outfit

Here Baby Kyle is wearing a preppy, long-sleeved footed coverall in breathable and durable cotton mesh. The Polo styling with signature two-button front and contrasting tipping at the ribbed collar and cuffs compliment the entire outfit. Ring snaps at the back and leg openings provide for easy on and off dressing. An embroidered polo player accents the chest. And HE makes the outfit look adorable! We can't help but take a few hundred pictures.

In his 5th week, Kyle got to spend some more time with Grandma Cooper, Uncle Bando, and Uncle Hubba. Uncle Bando enjoyed testing Kyle's natural reflexes, a real-world application of what he learned this semester in nursin' school. We all went out to eat many times, and Mom and Dad got to go out on two different occasions! Once, to the movies to see Bourne Ultimatum and then out to dinner for Mom's birthday. (Thank goodness for Grandmas and Great Grandmas and Aunts who like to babysit!)
A GREAT time was had by all, especially those who saw the leprechaun from Mobile, Alabama. If you want a good laugh, search on You Tube for this hilarious news story!!!
Kyle is doing well at sleeping and is starting to like a bath much more than before. Here are some pictures of Kyle before and after a nighttime bath. Also, you can see that he is losing some of the hair he had at birth. He can look back at these pictures and maybe see what he'll look like as an old man with a receding hairline!

Friends at last!!!

More Coopers Visit

Kyle got to have some fun with family this week. Grandpa Cooper and Aunt "E" came to town on business with Chevron. Later, Grandma Cooper, Uncle Bando, and Uncle Hubba (real names not to be divulged until Kyle has reached adulthood) drove in to visit. Here are some photos with members of "the fam."

One Month Old

Kyle is officially one month old now and so grown up! In fact, he's so mature now that he doesn't need as much sleep as before. Twenty minutes is enough to keep him going all day. So, that's awesome for everyone else. You can see from the pictures that the baby is wide awake or crying and the mom and dad look pretty tired. Smiling and happy, but tired.

Four Weeks Old!

Since it's not the 18th of the month, it's been requested that Kyle not be officially called "one-month old" yet. So, he's four weeks old today. His biggest hardship seems to be transitioning from nursing to formula. He's not thrilled about the change and can't seem to decide which type of bottle he's going to accept. No bottle seems to be as good as the real thing.
Kyle is also a bigger faker when it comes to going to sleep. He will cry and cry at the top of his lungs like he's going to die and then two seconds later be dreaming. He just doesn't want to miss anything important by wasting time going to sleep. He's all about the twenty minute power nap.

The latest photos......

Here he is, looking handsome in a new outfit with bunny booties.
He's really starting to show some personality!
