Arkansas Reunion: Day Three

After all that playing on the boat, we needed to relax.  A bath at the old-fashioned bath houses in Hot Springs was just the ticket! 

One group got up to go in the morning. 

We  met up for lunch and the rest of our group went to the baths while some of us played cruise director for the kids. 

We went to the aquarium.  It was about 5 minutes big.  One of the coolest things was the tortoise that just roams the halls. 

The boys liked the "tick-tock croc," errr alligator. 

Dayton was pretty smiley! 

We still had quite a bit of time to kill, so we headed to the Tiny Town Train Museum.  We all thought this would be another 5 minute activity, but we were surprised.  The kids LOVED it!!!

This all started in the owner's family when his father and grandfather would set up trains around the Christmas tree.  It grew, and grew, and grew, into the garage, and eventually needing to buy this building to house all the trains!!

The whole thing is interactive, and we spend quite a bit of time watching trains chug around and through different landscapes. 

Next, we took a drive up West Mountain to see the view.  It was HOT!!!!

We didn't stay too long, but it was another thing to burn time. 

One special thing we had planned for Hot Springs was a surprise anniversary dinner for Grandma and Grandpa. 

We got there early to get changed and get set up. 

The kids kept busy on phones, waiting for the guests of honor. 

They were surprised!!!

The special, fried chicken dinner, was for real delicious! 

We snapped a few pictures of the whole group.  I'm glad we could make this work and celebrate 40 years of marriage for Steve and Timee!!! 

Arkansas Reunion: Day Two

On day 2 of our Arkansas trip, we spent almost all of our time out on the lake. 

Kyle LOVED the tubes!!!  It was his favorite thing we did.  And, he sure got enough time out on them, riding both alone and with anyone who would take him.  

Claire liked driving the boat with her dad! 

Ryan said it was too windy and bright, so he had to close his eyes during the picture. 

Ryan was pretty scared to go on "the tuba," even telling me flat-out that he wouldn't do it.  I finally convinced him to go slowly with me and only for a little while. 

Aunt Carolyn loved driving the boat, too! 

Some of the best times were just stopping to swim and cool off. 

Claire really wanted Ryan to ride with her.  Again, he wasn't so sure.  We all finally convinced him.  He was scared. 

At this point, neither of them knew the trick about needing to lean back when you first start, and they were trying to hold on to the straps in the front. 

They fell right in!  Po was NOT happy!!!

At least Claire still got to ride!!

What a fun time out on the lake!!
