Thanksgiving in Grandbury

Lots of Solaris got together for Thanksgiving this year!

There was delicious food, travels to the ranch, and some were missed due to injury and sickness.

Before heading there, the boys and I made our traditional pumpkin pie!  (And, I had to bring the sweet potato casserole we all love.)

Meow's 4th Grade Musical

Meow was chosen to be Sponge Bob SquarePants in this year's PTA program.  He was so excited to have a big part, but also nervous to perform in front of the crowd.  He tried on the costume ahead of time and made sure to lay out all the pieces the day before the program.

The night of the big show, "Lights, Camera, Action!" there were many characters, but we think our boy did the best!  Here's some clips of the highlights!

Evan said afterward that he was happy about it, but glad it's over.  He did a great job!

Ryan's Winter Concert

Ryan has enjoyed the first semester of band and playing the French Horn.  His Bird Crew is doing well.

He and the entire band performed the end of semester concert.this evening.  I'm impressed with the band members and their leaders for the accomplishment.

Here's a sample of the performance:

What a great job from these mostly first time band members!

Last Primary Program

This is Ryan's last year in Primary at church.  It's his last line for a primary program.  It's Evan's last one in Frisco.  And, it's still being made differently, due to Covid, but still lovely.

Another program done!

Ryan's Last Gym Meet

Ryan has loved his gymnastics team and coaches in Frisco.  He is going to miss them greatly when we move.  Thankfully, he was able to celebrate his coach's birthday and participate in a last meet before we moved.

This meet was held at his home gym.  It was interesting that the teams were made randomly from all ages of competitive gymnasts at Eagle Gymnastics Academy.

Ryan's team took gold!!!

Here's some of the work Ryan did to help his team win the day:

It's always nice when hard work is rewarded!

Kyle Regional Band Concert

Kyle has worked so hard in band in middle school!
He has impressed us all with his love of the bassoon.
He made top scores in the Regional tryouts, and was invited to the Regional Concert.  Over a span of just a few days, an entire band came together to learn and perform some amazing pieces.
Stephen and I were both able to attend and support Kyle in his achievement.

While waiting, we spied a beautiful hot air balloon!

It was difficult to spy Kyle, as he was hidden behind a bunch of girls with big hair.

There he is!

Here's a sample of a few of the pieces the band was able to play that night!
