A large tumbleweed met us at our rental home.
The movers showed. up to our Frisco home on Saturday to load. We were still trying to pack up some oddly shaped things in the garage, but there boxes and everything else was ready to go, along with my moving notebook.
Toward the end, room in the vans were getting tight. The main owner was telling me that I didn't tell them how many boxes I would have. I got a bit frustrated, as I said "I have no idea." and that I made a guess, but didn't do this for a living. Also, at the time of filling out the survey, not even half of the house had been packed!! In addition, boss man mover came over the week prior to the move to access for himself. So, I was upset that boss man was putting the blame of not everything fitting on ME.
So far, we still needed Evan's basketball hoop, our outdoor furniture, and several lawn tools from the garage.
Thankfully, boss man's business partner, his wife, ordered another, smaller truck to our house. We were able to fit all our stuff in except the bb hoop and part of the outdoor furniture.
The movers pulled out with plans to make it to Abilene for an overnight rest. Wse looked up everything and left important info for the new homeowners. Following that, we got on the road with Grandpa at the wheel, as Stephen was working in Hobbs.
We all felt well and drove as far as possible. We decided to stay in a hotel overnight and get up for breakfast and an early start in the morning. Stephen was able to be off and help with the movers and sent me to be at the rental house when the internet guy came by. I also vacuumed and cleaned before any furniture went on the carpet.
Right on time, the movers arrived and got to work. Certain furniture went in certain places and most of the things that we had no room for remained in the garage. By the end of the work day, all the beds were set up and made and ready for sleeping. It would take another day to move some stuff into the backyard shed.
While the movers and I worked, the boys found things to keep them busy. Ryan was able to scale the tree in the front yard Once I put a ladder next to the trunk, Evan was able to make it up and down, too.
It's good to be to our new home!
