June Fun for Po + Meow

Later in June, Ryan and Evan went to a couple of fun birthday parties and played a lot, both outside and inside.  They made countless forts for reading and playing games.

Father's Day

How much we love Skonkdogg!

It's so great to have a day to celebrate all of the love and gratitude for the father of our family, as well as the boys' Gramps and Grandpa.

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful men in our lives!

Citrus Babies!

When we returned from Arkansas, our lime and lemon trees were ready with some fruit! Plus, our own Johnny Appleseed's, apple seeds had sprouted.

How fun to be growing our own fruit in the backyard, and not have to worry about the bunnies eating it all!

Cooper Arkansas Reunion

This year, we found that there was a chink in our well-oiled Arkansas Reunion Machine.  Instead of taking reservations on January 2 of a new year, Swaha changed their policies to year-round reservations.   As you can imagine, this kicked our formerly set-in-stone plans to the curb.

We hustled and had many ideas to compensate for no Swaha House and no Lake Greeson, and finally landed on something we hoped would be similar enough to be manageable.  The new lake was lovely, and the boats and jet skis made the change worth it.

The cabins were not so great, but we made it all work.....well, mostly all.

As always, we were packed in pretty tightly, and still able to sleep well on the car ride.

We also made the required trip to Bath House Row.

While we waited for all the bathers to get their turns, we played mini-golf at Pirate's Cove.  It had been difficult to make plans prior to being at the lake, as we were unsure what was open and what wasn't, due to The Coronas, but this course was a great choice! It was all outdoors, and I was glad I remembered to bring sunscreen, since our boys were so sunburned from their first lake day.

I made 2 holes-in-one!  Sadly, those miracles were not enough to get me a win.

Evan wasn't happy to be one of the last places, especially upon discovery that the Pirate wanted 4th and 5th places to be locked in the pillory.  Meow was deeply saddened, since golf is his sport! (Kyle actually should have been there, too, since there was a tie for last.)

The prisoners broke free and then all were presented with lunch at an Asian buffet, complete with all-they-could-eat sushi.

There was much time in the woods and walking down to the lake and fishing from the shore and playing games and blowing bubbles and grilling and other shenanigans.

.

The most fun was had on the lake: swimming, tubing, jet skiing, snacking, and enjoying the beautiful weather and nature.

The SSCII family had a riveting tournament of Giant Jenga.  Everyone won.

There were a few negatives with the changes made for the 2020 reunion, but the sunshine from the storm of the year made it worth the efforts!
