Wedding Dress Project

I'm no sleeping too well at night.  I usually wake up sometime between 2-4 a.m., unable to go back to sleep.  After lying there for at least 30 minutes, I've started getting up and getting so much accomplished for a few hours, then grabbing another round of sleep before the alarm goes off again.

I also get some great planning and thinking done, and one of these nights, I had a great idea:  have my wedding dress made into handkerchiefs!  I reached out to people who actually sew---not one of my talents---for help.  I'm first planning on having 3 special ones made for my future daughters-in-law to open on their wedding days.  Then, many more made to be given at my funeral.

Yes, we are at that planning stage, but mostly just to have it all ready so no one has to stress about the details in a tough situation.  Who knows?  Maybe I'll be around to hand all these gifts out and it will just be like opening a time capsule that was sealed years and years before!

Chrystal Time

Over 25 years ago, these 2 crazy girls happened to be in about 5 out of 7 7th grade classes together.  Boulter and Christensen also made perfect alphabetical order for seating arrangements.  They became fast friends and saved each other.

My BFF twin was able to schedule a birthday trip to visit me, before any of this cancer crap was in the way.  Thankfully, I was able to feel well enough to enjoy this trip, which came at a perfect time! (While Stephen was away fishing.)

Plus, my mom came in to town an overlapping day, which meant we actually got some much needed girl time--pedicures, fro yo, and reminiscing.

A perfect weekend!!!

Can't wait to do it again!

Book Signing

I had a fun time signing boxes and boxes of my book this morning, ready to sell!

Fishing Trip

Stephen and the boys gave their dad a fishing trip for retirement.  2 years ago.  They FINALLY made it happen!!!!

They fished and got everything the wanted.  They ate it freshly prepared 4 ways at a local restaurant.  They brought home a fortune in tuna and had an amazing time.

I'm so happy the trip was a success!

Weekend Fun

While Granna was still here, Auntie Deb got to come down to visit.

She came brining gifts, especially exciting---a kitty for Ryan!!!

Soccer games started again.  Evan was SOOO tired from scoring so many goals that he waited on the field during water break.

We watched a movie in bed.

And, Granna got some snuggles in.

We loved having Granna here!!!!

Kyle's Projects

Kyle's been reading all of the Rush Revere books and finally finished.  The next step was to write to Rush and tell him all about how much he enjoyed it!  (He's also hoping for, maybe, possibly, some kind of Apple product!)

The next big thing was writing his own story: a comic book!  He plans on selling them, and he's super excited to have written his own book!!

Baseball Game!

We love Aggie baseball!  We got to go to our first game, and even though the Aggies lost, we had a great time!

It was chilly, but the boys couldn't resist snowcones!!!

So fun!!!

Granna's Here!

It has been so much fun to have Granna come visit!

We've been getting stuff done around the house and around town, now that I am feeling better AND am done with radiation treatments.  That seems to free up a lot of time for projects and crossing things off the to-do list, plus just time for talking and catching up and making memories.

The boys had President's Day off.  It rained like CRAZY, but that was ok because we'd already planned on going to see the Lego Batman movie with friends.  We are LOVING the new seats our theater has FINALLY been upgrading.  SO.  MUCH.  FUN!!

Granna also wanted to see the boys' school, so we surprised them both with lunch the next day.  Our school really is the best, and I love how loved my boys are there.

There have been loads of games played, circus shows out on the trampoline, a fun dinner out, and just good quality time.  I'm grateful she's been able to be here for such a great trip and that I have felt so much more like myself!

Valentine's Day

The boys all had parties at school.

Stephen and I actually went out!  I felt well enough to eat something real. We talked about funeral plans and cried, but laughed and smiled, too.
